Cottage Cheese Toast
With just a few simple ingredients, you can create the best easy breakfast using cottage cheese and a few of your favorite toppings.
Ingredients:
For the toast base:
- 1 slice bread of choice, ideally sourdough
- ⅓ cup cottage cheese
- 1 teaspoon butter for frying on skillet, optional if not using toaster
Instructions:
- Toast or fry bread with butter in a small skillet.
- Top with cottage cheese
- Add toppings of choice (see variations below for inspiration).
- Eat immediately for best results.

Variations:
1. Honey & Chili Cottage Cheese Toast
- 1 teaspoon chili oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- or alternatively, use hot honey on top (I like Mike’s)
2. Bruschetta Cottage Cheese Toast
- 1 tablespoon butter for frying the bread
- ½ small garlic clove minced
- ½ cup cherry tomatoes quartered
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon balsamic reduction
- 1 pinch sea or pickling salt
3. Fig Jam & Honey
- 1 tablespoon fig jam (I like Bonne Maman)
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional
- 1 pinch flaky salt
4. Veggie-Packed Cottage Cheese Toast
- 1 clove garlic rubbed on toast
- 5 slices cucumber
- 2 slices tomato or more depending on toast size
- 1 tablespoon pickled red onion
- 1 wedge lemon juiced
- ¼ teaspoon fresh dill
- 1 pinch salt, sea salt or pickling salt
Tangerine & Coconut Cottage Cheese Toast with Honey
- 1 small clementine segmented
- ¼ teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon toasted coconut flakes
- 1 pinch sea or pickling salt
Strawberry Jam Cottage Cheese Toast
- 1 tablespoon strawberry jam mixed into the cottage cheese
- 2 tablespoon fresh strawberries roughly chopped
Hot Honey Peaches & Cream
- ¼ cup fresh or canned peaches diced
- 1 tablespoon hot honey (I like Mike’s) or another sweetener of choice
